The possession of emergency-powered equipment is\ndesirable, but is not a requirement for membership.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2>ARES TRAINING<\/h2>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Three levels of\ntraining will allow ARES participants to enter the program and migrate to\nhigher levels of qualification and service.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\"><br><\/span><p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color: rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u2022 Level 1\u2014This\nis the primary level for those who choose a non-leadership role as well as\nthose new to Amateur Radio or emergency communications. This introductory\ntraining is conducted by the local ARES group to meet their needs and those of\ntheir served agency or partners. This training could be formal or informal and\nwould introduce the ARES participant to the fundamentals of emergency\ncommunications and provide instruction on how participants are to conduct\nthemselves while serving in the field or otherwise activated.
